This beautiful spalted red elm bowl was turned from local elm in Front Royal, Virginia. Note the mesmorizing spalted black lines that serve to enhance this enormous bowl -- truly unique! The wood used for this spalted red elm bowl came from a tree that was cut down to make way for an auto parts store. The tree was hauled to the dump. What a waste, but some of it was rescued for use, such as this wonderful bowl. You can click on this link or on the Red Elm Bowl image for a full-sized view. This Red Elm Bowl shown here measures 16 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches deep!
